2 miles - 27.26 (1 mile split 11.46)
I thought I was going to die! I never thought I would see the day when a 2 mile run would feel so hard. The wind was blowing right in my face the entire uphill, which is 1/2 of the run. Then on the other side it blew so hard to my left I almost fell over.
The good news? The first mile was 11.46. I'm not sure how that happened. I hope I keep getting better times. This must be a fluke. I saw my shadow and it looked like I wasn't even moving. Yes...I am using the same, reliable stop watch and running the same route. We'll see how the rest of the week goes.
The truth...I drove the route again on Saturday and found out that I had been running 1.2 miles instead of 1. So, I started running the 1 mile today. There you have it, my confession and probably the reason my time is a little, ok, a lot faster than last week. However...I did run the same route every day and the same distance every day last week and my times dropped each day.
Today, I ran the 1 mile twice. I'm not sure how much of a difference the 1.2 mile route would have made. Either way, 11.46 mile after not running for 4 years is pretty good, I think. (Reminder, the last time I ran up until last week was in July 2006.)
Today I saw a mom and son walking (they said good morning), a Sprite can (maybe I should go pick it up), a little boy on a scooter, two guys walking with basket ball’s and bragging about their game, and on the second time around only...writing on the sidewalk that said RIP with an arrow pointing down the hill I just came from.
