My Story

My story is in the Archives. It will help explain my motivation in creating this blog/journal.

Goals: Run, Run, Run!! (I think about it every day. Every day!) - 10K (at least 3 this year) - 1/2 marathon (outside of practice) - St. George Marathon (Ran a 4:24 it in 2004. Want to do it under 4 hours this time) - Boston Marathon (My life long running dream besides the Olympics.)

Day 47

July 30, 2009
4 miles - 43 min.

Who am I writting to? I was thinking that when I started this I was writting it for myself. I would like others to read it and give their feed back. But, how do I address myself and others who may come across this? Just wondering. Do I say "Today you saw..." instead of Today I saw...?"

I was worried that my hamstring would cause problems so I started out really slow. Then I realized that running slow was actually harder than running a little faster. But I'm still not even close to where I want to be in speed. At least I could run today!
I've hit a plateau. I have one speed and need to get faster. Here is an article I found about getting over this. It's a good article and I'll try what it says. My only question would be what is a "relaxed sprint?" Of course if you run as slow as I do maybe that is a relaxed sprint. If I run any faster then it is an all out sprint. Where is the medium? Is there a sprint monitor out there? haha

I ran a different route and wasn't sure how far I had run so I went for a drive after. I was pleased and surprised that I had run that far. Especially when I saw that I had been running 43 minutes. I have to get under 9 min miles! I'm obsessed!

For some reason I see more women out running than men. Today I saw 6 women running and 2 men. Where are they all? Are they in the gym or something? I know there are men who run, but they must feel too threated by running with all of the women in the neighborhood. haha

New shoes and some new running cloths are a must! I have lost 7 lbs! Only12 lbs to go to my goal weight! Yea!!

Today I saw the trash truck. It was like running with a child. One that runs fast then slows down then runs fast... It was kinda funny. I also saw a gardening glove in the weirdest place. It either blew there or someone must have thrown it out their car window. I'm going to have my son clean the roads for his eagle scout project. There is so much trash out there! (65)
