My Story

My story is in the Archives. It will help explain my motivation in creating this blog/journal.

Goals: Run, Run, Run!! (I think about it every day. Every day!) - 10K (at least 3 this year) - 1/2 marathon (outside of practice) - St. George Marathon (Ran a 4:24 it in 2004. Want to do it under 4 hours this time) - Boston Marathon (My life long running dream besides the Olympics.)

Day 35

July 18, 2009
3 miles (5K) 30.02 min.

Today was the run for Britney. She has Lukemia. She is only 25 years old. She was married in December and found out she was sick in May. Somehow she made it to the race after going through 48 hours of chemo. I don't know her personally, but I know she has a lot of wonderful friends who love her very much. From what they say about her you can love her too.

The race started at 8:30 a.m. It was HOT!! All the way all I kept thinking about is how hot it was and how I didn't think I would make it. Not such good thinking when you are trying to race.

The girl who won ran under 22 min!! And, she ran to the race. She is amazing!

There weren't any numbers, no places, no t-shirt. Just a great morning for a great cause. I don't know how I placed, and it doesn't matter. It was a good day. Even though I am so tired I can't even move.

Today I saw a young woman will a terrible illness and a very strong spirit and her friends. Ran with Sarah Barnes and Kim Coleman.
